What to Drink

2010 Weinbach Gewürztraminer "Reserve Personelle", Alsace, France

Every week, world-renowned sommelier, Rajat Parr, shares advice and tasting notes on what to drink with our featured meal.

Depending on the Gewürztraminer, it will have varying degrees of sweetness ranging from dry (great for pairing with seafood) to dessert-worthy sweet. This dish needs a powerful wine to stand up to the lushness of the lobster and the puff pastry. Weinbach’s Gewürztraminer has a slightly oily quality and just enough acidity to help cut through the rich textures of this pot pie. The curry flavors will be accentuated by the natural spice of the Gewürztraminer and the exotic fruit profile will play a nice contrast to the savory vegetables in this recipe.
